Teri Hatcher, who played the role of Lois Lane in television’s Lois & Clark, recently talked to OTRC about Amy being cast as Lois in Man of Steel.
“She is a phenomenal actress, I mean really, right,” Hatcher said about Adams when asked about her opinion of Adams taking over the role of Lois Lane. “And [Adams] has such a large range. I think she’ll be amazing, I think she’ll be perfect.”

‘Man of Steel’ Plot Speculation

A bit spoliery but since it’s all speculation and educated guesses, who knows what will actually happen in the movie.
So, per the Hollywood trade press, Henry Cavill’s Superman will be bedeviled in the new big-screen adventure by Kryptonian bad-gal Faora (played by Pandorum’s Antje Traue)—unless that is, he’s not ’cause Faora and Traue aren’t locked in yet. (The all-knowing Warners Bros. hasn’t announced anything either way.)
While things are murky now, we know enough on the whole about the film’s cast and characters to make some educated Man of Steel guesses:

‘Man of Steel’ Plot Leaked?

This really doesn’t give away much and there is no mention of how large of role Amy’s character (Lois Lane) will have in the film.
A young reporter named Clark Kent roams the world covering various news stories. When he is compelled to use his secret powers to intervene in a crisis in West Africa, he returns to Smallville to learn more about his origins and the hero he was born to be.
It looks to me like Warner Bros. registered some details of the film, most likely with casting services who fed it to Baseline, somehow, but have since decided to play coy. I’d be prepared to make a reasonable sized bet on the above being the film’s story.
I don’t think it’s locked, I just like the odds. A lot.
The next puzzle would be ‘What does Zod have to do with all this?’
There’s probably something thematic going on about corrupt dictatorial leaders and warring factions of the same populace, on Krypton as much as in Africa, but we still don’t have any indication as to how these pieces of plot might fit together.

Thank you Mac for pointing me to this wonderful interview that Mtv posted. For those that are not aware, Margot played Lois Lane in the Christopher Reeve Superman films in the late 70′s and early 80′s. This is the Superman I grew up with and Margot is who I picture when I hear the name Lois Lane.
I think the casting is just inspired. The director sounds very, very bright. So clearly there will be something interesting going on.
MTV NEWS: What do you think about Amy Adams as Lois Lane?
MARGOT KIDDER: She’s a brilliant, wonderful actress! She’s incredible. She’s an extraordinarily accomplished young lady — and gorgeous and full of energy and spirit. She’s so different from part to part, it’s going to be really interesting to see what she does with Lois.
MTV: What’s the key to playing a great Lois Lane?
KIDDER: Gosh, I think Amy Adams is so much better an actress than I am that I wouldn’t even for a second presume to give her any advice on the subject at all!
MTV: Do not sell your Lois Lane short!
KIDDER: Well, thank you. But she’s amazing, this girl.

“She’s such a fantastic character,” Adams said Tuesday at CinemaCon, a Las Vegas convention for theatre owners, where she appeared with co-star Jason Segel to promote their family comedy The Muppets, due out in November. “She’s feminine, she’s intelligent, she’s a go-getter. She’s somebody I have identified with since whenever.
“I’m like the luckiest girl in the world. I’ve gotten to be a princess, I’ve gotten to work with the Muppets. A lot of my childhood dreams about who I wanted to be when I was a grown-up, I at least get to play them in movies. And Lois Lane is one of them. So I’m just excited. I hope I bring something that people enjoy.”

“I think the role of women in society constantly changes,” Adams said in Las Vegas where she was attending CinemaCon. ”And what I love about Lois Lane is that she’s been very consistently strong, successful, independent. I’m very attracted to that. It was a time when women were really — I don’t want to make some grand statement because I know it will come across as a grand statement — but [women were often limited by society then and] what I loved about her was that she was able to be smart and be feminine and I think that that’s something I know I’m going to teach my daughter, that you don’t have to be a man to be powerful. You can be a powerful woman.”

Amy Adams Too Old to Play Lois Lane?

Not according to Mtv!!
“[Lois] won a Pulitzer and kinda given up on guys by the time she meets Superman,” Millar continued “She can’t be a 25-year-old.”
The internet has been buzzing this week over the announcement that Oscar-nominated actress Amy Adams will play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s upcoming “Superman: Man of Steel” movie. Overall, fans seem to love the casting — but if there was one negative to be found, it was a frequent complaint regarding the age difference (nine years) between Adams and her on-screen Superman, Henry Cavill.
But does it matter?
An older woman dating a younger man certainly isn’t unheard of, but the nine-year age difference — Adams is 36, Cavill is 28 — has struck a certain portion of fandom as, well… a little odd.

Noel Neill, who portrayed the character alongside Kirk Alyn in the original movie serials of 1948 and 1950, and who then went on to play the character for the majority of the 1950s “Adventures of Superman” TV series, contacted the Superman Homepage to let us know her thoughts on Amy Adams.
“Amy Adams as Lois Lane is a wonderful choice. She’ll bring a lot to the role. She is a great actress with great acting depth. I have loved her work, so I have no doubt she will be an incredible Lois Lane. Welcome to the family, Amy!”

This just in — three-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams will play journalist Lois Lane in Hollywood’s revival of “Superman.”
The 36-year-old star got the news on Sunday from director Zack Snyder, who phoned her from Paris, where he was promoting his just-opened film, “Sucker Punch.” There had been a crush of Hollywood interest in the lead female role in the Warner Bros. project but Snyder said that after meeting with Adams, she was the clear choice to take on a character that dates back to 1938 and has long represented the strong, professional woman who can hold her own against any man – even if he can leap tall buildings in a single bound.
