The folks over at People have posted a sneak peek of Amy on tomorrow’s episode of Rachael Ray. In it, she talks about how her and Darren decided on the name Aviana and how having Aviana has calmed her. I can’t seem to get an embed code for the clip but you can view it at the source.

When it came to naming her now 7-month-old daughter Aviana Olea, Amy Adams surprised even herself with her final choice.

After declaring herself a traditionalist, the actress and fiancé Darren Le Gallo instead chose to pay homage to Adams’ birthplace of Aviano, Italy.

“We had picked out a whole bunch of other names as well and we had thrown around Aviana, but I was into more traditional names and thought that we would go that direction,” The Fighter star shares during a visit to the Rachael Ray Show, airing Friday.

“But, when she was born we just kept calling her, ‘Avi, Avi, Avi.’”Reflecting on her last visit to the show, Adams admits the benefits of motherhood even extend to her professional life.

“Oddly enough, I’m more relaxed. I’m not nervous sitting here talking, last time I was here I was just a mess,” she reveals. “[Aviana's] so calm, I think she calms me down. She was born mellow … So I roll with her punches, she’s great!”

Excited to celebrate baby girl’s first Christmas, Adams, 36, laughs there’s no need for presents — just wrapping paper! “We are at home, we’re just going to stay home and be really quiet. And hopefully keep it small and intimate,” Adams says.

“It’ll be fun! She’ll be more into the wrapping paper I’m sure! She’s really into eating paper right now, you know, because she’s a baby.”

When a pregnant Amy Adams told UsMagazine in January that she tended “to be more attracted to traditional names,” it led us to expect something as straightforward as Amy or fiance’s name Darren Le Gallo. But when her daughter arrived on May 15, she was given an anything but traditional name.

Aviana Olea is, in fact, a pair of names not to be found in any list of conventional monikers. Aviana, which might be seen as a ultra-feminine, or feminissima, elaboration of the mega-popular Ava, now No. 5 on the recently released Social Security Administration list of most popular girls’ names. Given to more than 15,000 babies last year, its starting syllable is related to the Latin word for bird, avis.

In addition to the countless celebs who have chosen Ava for their daughters — from Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe to Hugh Jackman to Paz Vega — others have chosen names from the same family. Gossip Girl’s Matthew Settle has an Aven, Angie Harmon and Jason Sehorn have a daughter named Avery — which is rapidly growing in popularity — and Daniel Baldwin stuck to the original Avis.

Soundwise, Aviana is also a cousin to a whole clan of currently trendy names, including Ariana/Arianna, Adriana, Audriana, Aliana/Eliana and Viviana.

Middle name Olea is an equally intriguing choice. Following through on the Latin theme, it is the name of the genus of evergreen trees that includes the olive. It is also an occasionally used Norwegian and Danish girls’ name and is said to be an Old Hebrew word for night or moon.

I just received an email from People Magazine who has confirmation from Amy’s rep that she did in fact give birth to a baby girl over the weekend. The baby weighs in at 7lbs and they’ve named her Aviana Olea Le Gallo. A great big congratulations to Amy and Darren and their entire family. You will be amazing parents!

According to Radar (not the most reliable of sources), Amy and Darren welcomed a 7lb girl over the weekend. If it is true I want to say a great big congratulations to the happy new parents. There is no further information about the name.  Even if this ends up being false, her due date has to be anytime now so stay tuned as Enchanting Amy will be keeping you up-to-date with the baby news.

Personally, I am very happy to hear that she likes traditional names.

“I don’t know yet! I really don’t know yet,” Amy revealed to OK! at the New York premiere of Leap Year on Wednesday night. “I’m gonna have to really meet the person before I know the name. I tend to be attracted to more traditional names, but who knows?”

While she may not be able to buy Heidi Klum’s maternity designs yet, that isn’t stopping Amy Adams from looking fabulous during her pregnancy, thanks to designer Carolina Herrera! InStyle.com reports that the designer is reworking pieces from her current collections to create a custom-made wardrobe for the lucky mom-to-be. The Leap Year star tells InStyle.com that “They made my clothes for the entire press tour. They’re amazing. They did such a great job.” And the actress is wasting no time debuting her new sophisticated maternity pieces. On Jan. 4, Amy wore an aqua wool crepe dress for an appearance on Good Morning America. One day later, she stylishly stepped out in a gray mélange belted coat with red satin trim paired with a silk mulberry dress for a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman. Last night, the Leap Year star looked ravishing in a ‘lava red’ silk georgette dress at the movie’s premiere. What a fashionable baby bump!

What’s Amy Adams having?

“A baby!” she told USA TODAY’s Donna Freydkin over a breakfast of scrambled eggs and ham at the Mandarin Oriental hotel.

She and her fiance, actor Darren Le Gallo, haven’t learned if she’s having a boy or girl. “We don’t know for sure yet. We’ll definitely find out,” she says.

Does she hope for one gender over the other? “No preference,” says Adams, 35, radiant in a blue Carolina Herrera dress that the designer customized for the actress to fit her pregnant frame.

Adams, now promoting her romantic comedy Leap Year, is due in the spring. “I feel pretty good, I have to say. It’s been good,” she says. “I’ve been doing a lot of curling up at home so it’s nice to get out and be active.”
